The Harpenden and Berkhamsted Liberal Democrats are seeking a motivated Campaigns Organiser to coordinate volunteers, campaign materials and voter contact. You will recruit and support volunteers, organise leaflet production and delivery, and coordinate doorstep and telephone campaigning, working closely with campaign teams to deliver effective campaigns.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support campaign planning and organisation
  • Recruit, train and mobilise volunteers
  • Lead doorstep, telephone, online and delivery activity
  • Coordinate voter contact programmes
  • Contribute to campaign literature production
  • Support digital campaigning activity
  • Organise and input campaign data in line with regulations
  • Line manage supporting staff and interns where required
  • Support fundraising activity where possible
  • Undertake training and additional duties as required

Overall Aims

To support the local Liberal Democrats so that:

  • Membership and volunteer numbers grow
  • Campaigning capacity is strengthened
  • Local election success is maximised
  • Harpenden and Berkhamsted is retained at the next General Election

Person specification:

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to recruit, motivate and manage volunteers
  • Resilience and a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Understanding or experience of election campaigning
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Sympathy with Liberal Democrat aims and values

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the local area
  • Ability to produce political literature
  • Good digital skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to generate positive media coverage
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
