Labour MP Alex Mayer is seeking a paid intern for her fast-paced constituency office.

You will need excellent written English skills, be a self-starter and politically switched on.

This internship will include:

• Replying swiftly to emails, letters, and survey responses with well written, accurate and politically astute responses
• Assisting with organising constituency engagements
• Collating information for briefings and diary management
• Learning how to draft Parliamentary Questions
• Other administrative tasks as determined by Head of Office

Applicants should have a proven commitment to the aims of the Labour Party and trade union movement.

The intern will be given a parliamentary laptop and can work from the Leighton Buzzard constituency office and/or remotely from home. There will be an opportunity to visit Westminster from time to time. Full training will be provided, with appropriate support and supervision in place. This is a full time role.

Our previous interns have gone on to find permanent roles in an MP’s office and so this could be a great stepping stone for you too.
