Job Details
Ben Goldsborough MP is looking to recruit a Parliamentary Assistant. This exciting opportunity will be based in his Westminster office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responding to policy-based casework and other routine correspondence
- Support the MP in Westminster with his day-to-day parliamentary duties
- Work with the MP to ensure strong links between the constituency team and Westminster
- Give advice on policy issues
- Engage confidentially and professionally with members of the public
- Accompany Ben to meetings in Westminster or occassional visits in the constituency
- Ensure relevant issues raised through constituency casework are adequately represented in the MPs work in Westminster
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and to prioritise workload
- Good knowledge of the British political system and an interest in current affairs
- A desire to learn about Ben's constituency
- Sympathetic with the aims and objectives of the Labour Party
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
