About African Child Trust (ACT)
ACT is a growing international development charity with a Christian ethos, dedicated to educating disadvantaged children and empowering widows in Africa. Since 1998, we’ve supported children from primary school through to university and equipped widows with income-generating skills to sustain their families. Working with our local partners, we implement projects in education, livelihoods, sanitation, and health across eight African countries: Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

Executive Management Assistant Role
We are in an exciting phase of growth and expanding both our impact and reach to more children and women in Africa. We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our small team as Executive Management Assistant.

In this position, you will take the lead in our communications and social media, working with our interns to create engaging and high-quality written, visual, and video content. You will oversee our online presence – including our website. An important part of your role is our supporter care administration, ensuring a timely response to enquiries and requests. You will use our CRM tool to manage information and communications with supporters and stakeholders, both in the UK and in Africa. The role also comes with administrative responsibilities, involves overseeing general office duties and maintaining our CRM database.

The role offers the opportunity to develop practical skills, gain experience in the international development sector, and access internal training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the charity’s social media presence and manage our online platforms, including our website.
  • Work with a small team of interns to ensure that engaging and impactful materials are shared to our online following on a consistent basis.
  • Deliver high-quality supporter care and manage communications between the charity and our supporters and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with ACT partners and beneficiaries in Africa and oversee follow-ups and supporting tasks.
  • You will be trained in the use of our CRM system and ensure it is kept up to date with the information and data required.
  • Carry out general office duties, including the planning and prioritisation of tasks and managing enquiries and correspondence efficiently and promptly.
