ABOUT STARTUP COALITION

Startup Coalition is an independent advocacy group that serves as the policy voice for technology-led start ups and scaleups in the UK. The Startup Coalition was founded by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs and fights for a policy environment that enables early-stage British tech companies to grow, scale and compete globally.

THE ROLE

This role will sit at the centre of Startup Coalition’s lively and growing FinTech policy portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Being a go-to person for Fintech, for colleagues and startups. Meeting and liaising with Fintechs, policy stakeholders and other members of the Fintech ecosystem is critical to our success.
• Knowing their BNPL from their Open Banking. Maintaining an up to date knowledge of UK Financial Services regulation and policy.
• Keeping on top of what’s going on in our Fintech policy portfolio. This will involve project management 101, mapping out project timelines, writing status updates, and running meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensuring startup voices are heard. This means making sure that all relevant Government and regulatory consultations are responded to, that Startup Coalition is featured in relevant press, and that we are represented at conferences and events.
• Chipping in on everything else. We run a small operation, so everyone works together to deliver great policy work that helps achieve a policy environment that enables tech startups and scaleups to grow and scale effectively.

• Someone who is approachable and happy spending a lot of their time talking to founders, policymakers and other folks in the ecosystem.
• Someone who believes in the power of early-stage tech entrepreneurs to improve lives.
