Length of Contract: Permanent
Job Details
Join us in championing the hospice sector and ensuring that no one misses out on the care they need at the end of their lives.
This exciting role in our award‑winning External Affairs team spans policy and public affairs work in England. You will advocate for the hospice sector and the people who rely on it, helping us build a future where everyone receives high‑quality end of life care.
This is a pivotal moment for hospice and end of life care. Hospices across the UK are facing the most severe financial pressures in 20 years, with funding challenges forcing service cuts and redundancies.
Our campaigning has helped secure £125m in short‑term funding for the sector, a commitment to a Modern Service Framework for palliative and end of life care, and growing recognition in the 10‑year health plan. Parliamentary scrutiny of hospice funding is now at an unprecedented level.
With this momentum, there are significant opportunities to shape the policy and political landscape. We hold strong influence in Parliament and have built meaningful engagement among policymakers. We are also a key voice in discussions on Assisted Dying, a debate that will have major implications for palliative and end of life care.
We are now seeking a talented and committed Policy and Public Affairs Manager to help drive this work forward. You will be proactive, curious, and motivated by improving people’s experiences of death, dying and bereavement, and by strengthening the role of hospices within this.
You’ll bring excellent influencing and communication skills, sharp political instincts, and the ability to quickly analyse the impact of external developments. A collaborative approach and a commitment to coalition‑building are essential.
You will provide leadership while also being hands‑on, ready to contribute at all levels. Strong project management skills will help you prioritise resources and delegate effectively.
This is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping a future where everyone receives the care they need at the end of their lives.
