Job Details
Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP in his role as Member of Parliament for Chorley is looking to recruit an efficient and highly organised constituency support officer to join the Constituency Office team. The role will be based in the Constituency Office working hours 9.30am till 4pm, Monday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
Deal with a large number of standard enquiries, engaging with members of the public via telephone, face to face and email.
Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
Log cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
Liaise with government agencies, VCFS networks and others to resolve constituency matters.
Retain records and information ensuring that records are kept up to date and information managed confidentially in line with Data Protection Legislation
Assist at surgeries when necessary.
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Key Skills
Excellent administration skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Must be able to engage professionally, with care and integrity with a wide range of people and organisations.
Ability to manage confidential matters with discretion.
Understand the relationship between the Constituency and Parliament - knowledge of Lancashire would be desirable.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
