Job Details

Following a historic 2024 General Election and continued local election gains, the Liberal Democrats are seeking a Campaigns Manager to drive further electoral growth across Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Bristol.

This is a senior regional role focused on winning. You will work closely with MPs, candidates, councillors, volunteers and staff to deliver disciplined, professional and ambitious campaigns that convert strong local foundations into electoral success.

You will lead priority campaigns across the Western Counties, directly managing key contests where required and ensuring all activity is strategically focused, data-led and compliant. You will run structured campaign planning processes with local teams, set clear objectives and drive delivery against voter contact, fundraising and organisational targets.

A central part of the role is building long-term capacity. You will strengthen volunteer recruitment and leadership in held seats, while developing campaign-ready infrastructure in emerging priority areas. You will mentor and support organisers and local staff, embedding best practice in messaging, targeting, digital campaigning and literature production.

The role is home-based, with regular travel across the region.

  • Confidence using data, CRM systems and digital tools to inform targeting and reporting
  • Experience motivating and developing volunteers and/or staff
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • The ability to operate effectively across a large geographic area
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
