We’re looking for an energetic and driven intern to join our fantastic team – someone who has a focus on delivering great work and a keen interest in current affairs, politics, and business.

During the 10-week internship, successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients from a variety of sectors, and across all aspects of our business including research, content creation, media and political monitoring and event management.

Previous experience is great, but not essential. We are looking for candidates in their penultimate or final year of university (Bachelor or Master). We will consider applications from those studying any course but would be particularly interested to hear from students studying social and political sciences, business, communications, or public relations.

Day-to-day responsibilities
Work collaboratively across the 56˚ North team to ensure the business delivers excellent client service – this will include supporting all aspects of client account management.

Work with Consultants, Directors, and Partners to prepare high-quality work for clients and new business development activity – including research, presentations, content creation for briefings and insights, press releases, media and political monitoring and other materials that support this activity.

Help to market and profile 56° North to clients, prospective clients, and key stakeholders. Working closely with other team members, this will include research, writing and other creative activities to ensure the ongoing delivery of 56˚ North’s insights, briefings, website, and social media activity.

Undertake a variety of different administrative and logistical tasks (including event management) to ensure efficient operation of the business and its operations.

Skills and experience required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A keen interest in current affairs, politics and business
An ability to work independently and as part of a team on challenging and rewarding work
A desire to develop personally and make a difference to our clients and our team

We operate a hybrid model where the team is expected to work from the office for a minimum of 3 days per week including every Monday and Thursday.

Interview dates are likely to be the start of April. 

The start date is Monday 15 June 2026, however, may be negotiated based on application/agreed duration of role
