Salary: National Living Wage +3% - Approx 27362 (pro-rata)

Job Details

The Office of Oliver Ryan are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join Oliver's busy constituency team as a Caseworker. The role includes providing information and advocacy to constituents on a variety of issues and liaising with Government agencies, the voluntary sector and others to help resolve matters on behalf of constituents. 

Please note this role is a 6 month fixed term contract to help the team through a particularly busy period, and an extension cannot be guaranteed. 

Key responsibilities

• Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, or face to face. Ongoing communication will be required for many cases.
• Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP.
• Draft responses to constituents. Log all cases and provide administrative support for case management.
• Monitor case progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with GDPR.
• Liaise and build relationships with key agencies.
• Assist at surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
• Other tasks as may be required by the MP.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.

• Previous political experience is not essential, but a can-do and proactive attitude is.
• Previous casework experience in other sectors desirable.
