The Kent Conservative Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Campaign Assistant to support campaigning activity across Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in one of the most active and influential Conservative groupings in the country.

The Kent Conservative Group supports campaigning across the following parliamentary constituencies:

Canterbury

Chatham and Aylesford

Faversham and Mid Kent

Maidstone and Malling

Sevenoaks

Tonbridge

Tunbridge Wells

Together, these constituencies form the largest Conservative grouping in the country, delivering coordinated campaigning, strong local organisation, and direct support to councillors, candidates and volunteers across Kent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of local and county-wide campaign activity, including elections and by-elections
  • Assist with the production and distribution of campaign materials, including leaflets, letters and digital content
  • Help coordinate campaign sessions, volunteer activity and action days
  • Maintain and update campaign data in line with data protection requirements
  • Assist with voter contact, including door-knocking, calling sessions and surveys
  • Support councillors and candidates with local communications and campaign messaging
  • Attend campaign sessions, meetings and events across Kent, including evenings and weekends
  • Provide general administrative and organisational support to the Kent Conservative Group

Essential Characteristics

  • A strong interest in politics and campaigning, with a good understanding of local government
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with councillors, volunteers and the public
  • Proactive and enthusiastic, with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of campaigning
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when required

The successful applicant must be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party and supportive of the work of Conservative councillors and candidates across Kent. Due to the rural nature of much of the county, access to a car is essential.
