Taiwo Owatemi MP is seeking a proactive and organised Constituency Assistant to join her constituency office team in Coventry North West.
This role provides essential support to ensure the smooth running of the office, assisting with routine casework enquiries, office administration, community engagement, and constituency campaigns.
The role will focus on handling standard constituent enquiries and supporting the administration of casework, ensuring that residents receive timely responses and that enquiries are logged and progressed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to a high volume of constituent enquiries via phone, email, social media, and face-to-face communication.
- Assist with routine casework enquiries, gathering information and drafting responses to constituents.
- Log enquiries and monitor progress to ensure records are maintained confidentially and in line with data protection requirements.
- Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce concise reports for the MP and office team.
- Assist at surgeries, street meetings, coffee mornings, and other constituency events, including follow-up actions where appropriate.
- Support the organisation of constituency events, meetings, and campaigns.
- Assist with diary coordination, scheduling meetings, and arranging visits with local stakeholders.
- Support volunteer engagement and outreach activities across the constituency.
The role holder may occasionally be required to work outside standard office hours, including evenings or weekends, and travel to London or other locations when necessary.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- A professional and empathetic approach when engaging with constituents.
- An understanding of the political environment and a commitment to Labour Party values.
Desirable: Experience in administration, casework support, community engagement, or campaign activity. A driving licence is also preferred.
