Job Details
This is a substantive, part-time role based in Scunthorpe. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will work as part of a small, dedicated team to support casework, project management, and general office administration.
The working pattern of 3 days will be agreed with the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities include:
• Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face. Ongoing communication may be required.
• Draft responses to constituents.
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP.
• Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
• Attend constituency meetings as appropriate.
• Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
• Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce reports.
• Supporting the pro-active engagement work of the Constituency Office.
Person specification
Essential:
• Competent using IT – especially with Microsoft Office.
• Polite, confident and empathetic approach to public engagement.
• Well organised and able to prioritise, plan and respond flexibly to what is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated individual who can manage and prioritise a demanding workload, take initiative and meet deadlines.
• Use creative thinking to problem solve.
• Reliable, diligent and professional in all ways representing the MP and office.
• Able to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Desirable:
• Experience of caseworker.mp.
• Knowledge of the Scunthorpe Constituency, local issues and key stakeholders.
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour party, and able to articulate its key policy positions and values.
