Suella Braverman MP is looking to recruit a Constituency Assistant to join her busy Fareham & Waterlooville constituency office. They will play a key role in ensuring constituents receive timely and professional support when contacting the office.
Working at the heart of a small, dedicated team the role will suit someone who is organised, empathetic and motivated by helping people resolve problems. It is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy constituency office and make a real difference to the community. Duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Supporting the smooth running of the MP’s caseload, ensuring correspondence is responded to appropriately
• Helping constituents with enquiries and logging, tracking and following up casework, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and sensitively.
• Attending constituency surgeries and meetings and assisting with follow-up actions.
• Providing administrative support to the team, including mail-outs, assisting with events and supporting local consituency campaigns, for example Portchester Banking Hub, new GP surgery for Newlands Estate, better services from Southern Water
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, for example to support constituency events or surgeries. Time off in lieu will be provided.
We are looking for a team player with good written and verbal communication skills who is organised, approachable and able to work effectively in a busy environment. The role is full-time, based in the Fareham & Waterlooville consituency office and offered on a permanent basis following a six-month probation period. An ideal candidate will understand and share Suella’s core priorities and have sympathy with the aims and values of the Reform UK Party.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Successful candidates will be invited for interview as soon as possible during WB 23rd March and 30th March. We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date. We are ideally looking for somene to start as soon as possible.
