Job Title: 2 roles - Communications & Events Officer and Head of Office

Length of Contract: Communications Officer - permanent. Head of Office - maternity cover for 10 months

Job Details

Communications and Events Officer:
- Produce compelling social media content, including graphics and videos
- Manage and plan social media narrative
- Maintain a communications grid, mapping out strategic messages for the days and weeks ahead
- Manage Sarah’s website
- Draft press releases and articles for local/national publications
- Plan and support constituency events, such as visits, parliamentary receptions and coffee mornings
- Establish priorities and logistics for Sarah’s diary
- Engage local stakeholders through campaigns and events
- Triage and draft correspondence to constituents and stakeholders
- Develop relationships with businesses, charities and public sector bodies to deliver on Sarah’s priorities

Head of Office:
- Manage the office team, overseeing all HR processes (including maintaining records and liaising with IPSA) and promoting a positive, kind and inclusive culture
- Provide high quality, efficient and effective support to Sarah, as required
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the budget, including planning and financial reporting, keeping Sarah informed of all relevant financial matters and liaising with IPSA
- Overall management of Sarah’s diary commitments, delegating as appropriate
- Oversight of constituency casework, including management of complex cases
- Responsible for security, including maintaining office security systems in accordance with guidance and liaising with external bodies
- Horizon-scanning, anticipating what advice or action may be required; proactively identifying problems and resolving them
- Identify training opportunities and ensure the office team maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation where appropriate
- Support and manage recruitment for Sarah’s office
