Hourglass, the only UK-wide charity dedicated to ending the abuse, harm, exploitation and neglect of older people, is recruiting an External Affairs Officer.

This role will support the delivery of Hourglass’ external affairs, policy and campaigning work, with a primary focus on Northern Ireland while contributing to activity across the UK. Working closely with the External Affairs Lead, Director of Policy and the wider Policy Unit, the postholder will build and maintain relationships with political stakeholders, statutory partners and sector organisations to raise awareness of abuse in later life and influence policy and practice.

The successful candidate will contribute to policy development, parliamentary engagement and campaign activity, leading on work in Northern Ireland and supporting oversight of activity in Scotland.
