The Assistant Organiser will assist the Local Organiser in mobilising local members and supporting Labour candidates in campaigning to win as many seats as possible on Oxford City Council.
This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to gain some paid work-experience in election campaigning with an effective and successful local party, with a strong national reputation. This position would suit someone interested in pursuing a career in public or electoral campaigns, but this is not a prerequisite.
This temporary post will be for 5 weeks starting on Thursday 9 April or shortly afterwards and end 5 weeks later in May after the elections, which take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Hours of work are 15 per week and are flexible with a lot of weekend and evening working. Paid holiday entitlement will be 28 days pro rata.
You will report to and be managed by Oxford & District Labour Party Local Organiser. You will be based at the Oxford & District Labour Party Office, Unit A, Bishops Mews, Transport Way, Oxford OX4 6HD with the expectation of some travel around Oxford.
