Job Details
Anneliese is looking for a highly motivated Parliamentary Researcher to join her team. The role will focus on supporting Anneliese's work and interests in Parliament, as part of the team supporting her constituents of Oxford East.
The role is expected to be full-time or as close to this as possible.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be proactive, and have experience of working in a team. Applicants will need to demonstrate experience of either working or volunteering in a political environment; beyond that, Anneliese is interested in applications from people with a diverse variety of backgrounds.
This role is Westminster based.
Key responsibilities:
• Managing the parliamentary diary in London
• Horizon scanning to ensure the MP speaks in relevant debates and tables relevant questions
• Drafting Parliamentary Questions and interventions
• Liaising effectively with the constituency team on Anneliese's work to feed into debates and communications
• Preparing briefing notes on various topics
• Undertaking complex policy casework as required, as well as maintaining routine policy and campaign casework where needed
• Triaging the main inbox as necessary
Requirements:
• Excellent political judgement and the ability to think and plan strategically
• A positive attitude, self-motivating, using initiative and creativity in dealing with the variety of tasks and multiple priorities that Westminster presents daily
• Experience performing a wide range of tasks whilst managing a heavy and fast paced workload
• Outstanding written and verbal skills, with keen attention to detail
• Professionalism, diplomacy, and political awareness are essential
• Identification with the aims and objectives of the Labour Party
Ideally, media skills including posting on social media, basic video editing and liaising with the media, or a willingness to learn this.

Interview/Start Dates
Interviews will take place on Monday the 11th of May, to start as soon as possible thereafter.
Shortlisted candidates will be given a task to complete before interview.
