Job Details

This role is ideal for someone with strong creative instincts and a passion for digital content creation. You will have proven experience creating high impact digital content and growing social media channels.The successful candidate be responsible for managing Robbie’s external communications and social media presence.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the management and development of the MP’s communications presence, including with local and national press.
  • Create high-quality, targeted content across social media, web and email.
  • Film and edit high impact video and graphics for social media using industry-standard tools (Adobe Suite, FinalCut or similar).
  • Manage and grow the MP’s social media channels.
  • Oversee content for MP's website, newsletter, letters to residents and other communications as required.
  • Draft press releases and briefings on constituency and national issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media and stakeholders, liaise with local and national media, monitor media.
  • Handle sensitive and politically complex issues with discretion and sound judgement.
  • Preparing briefing notes ahead of meetings, constituency engagements and parliamentary activities.

Candidates should have the following skills and qualities:

  • Strong experience in a creative, communications, PR, media or political role.
  • Proven ability to create compelling content across digital platforms, particularly video.
  • Experience filming and editing video content to a high standard.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and growing social media accounts, including use of analytics.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape, including local and national press.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, proactive and ideas-driven, with a strong eye for engaging content.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Good political judgement and awareness of current affairs.
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.

Desirable

  • Experience using tools such as Adobe creative Suite, Photoshop or equivalent.
  • Experience developing digital campaigns or audience growth strategies.
