Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity for a public affairs professional to shape and deliver the Commission’s political and parliamentary engagement. You will lead public affairs activity, provide high quality advice and briefings to senior colleagues, and represent the Commission with parliamentarians, political stakeholders and partner organisations.
Key responsibilities include supporting organisational priorities through public affairs work, preparing briefings for Parliamentarians and select committees, drafting accurate responses to Parliamentary Questions, planning stakeholder events in Westminster and monitoring parliamentary activity to ensure timely intelligence sharing.
This is a strong development opportunity for someone looking to deepen their expertise. You will gain exposure to senior leadership, work with colleagues across Policy, Research, Communications and Regulation, and build experience in a politically sensitive, high profile environment. Monthly travel to Westminster is expected, with additional travel as required.
The team culture is supportive, open and solutions focused. Team members work with colleagues at all levels and gain insight into a wide range of political engagement and communications activity. For anyone interested in the intersection of politics, democracy and public communications, this is a rewarding environment.
The role suits someone with strong political awareness, confidence working with political and non political stakeholders and the ability to handle sensitive issues with sound judgement. You will be able to present complex information clearly and build effective relationships.
Essential criteria include at least two years’ experience in public affairs, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience managing politically sensitive communications, strong organisational skills and confidence representing the organisation externally.
You will join an organisation with a clear public mission and a commitment to learning, collaboration and inclusion, with opportunities to work closely with senior leaders and across multiple directorates.
