Charlesbye is looking for a bright, ambitious and motivated individual with experience in media and communications, to join our thriving integrated communications and public affairs team.

Our team combines deep political insight with media expertise, shaped by experience at the centre of the UK’s most high-profile campaigns - from national elections to major public health initiatives.

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised individual to join our London Bridge office who has previously worked in journalism, communications consultancies, press offices or media-facing roles, and are now looking to take their next step in a competitive and growing agency.

Job specification

You’ll play a key role in delivering strategic communications campaigns and day-to-day client work across a range of accounts. The role includes:

  • Supporting strategic communications and media placement across client portfolios
  • Drafting high-quality content, from press releases and briefings to opinion pieces
  • Using your developed network in media, journalism and and politics to get great, regular results for our clients and their stories.
  • Coordinating across teams to ensure seamless campaign delivery
  • Managing actions, timelines and deliverables across multiple accounts

Candidate specification

We’re looking for someone who combines strong media instincts with excellent organisational skills and sound judgement.

  • 3+ years experience working in journalism, a communications consultancy, in the media or in a media facing role, whether that’s in-house or in a press office
  • A strong understanding and passion for UK politics, government and the media
  • Proven experience delivering strategic communications campaigns - from inception to seeing the results in the media
  • A clear, confident writer with strong attention to detail and self-editing ability
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Commercially and politically aware, with good judgement
  • Proactive, ideas-driven, and comfortable taking initiative
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
