Job Details

Alex Davies-Jones MP is looking for an organised and motivated Caseworker with experience to join her constituency team.

  • Manage casework queries from members of the public by phone, email, or face-to-face.
  • Ensure cases are logged, monitored, progressed, and all identified actions are taken.
  • Ensure all cases are dealt with sensitively, confidentially and accurately, and in a timely manner in accordance with our policies and data protection legislation.
  • Ensure that all cases and decisions are properly documented, with all interactions noted, and followed up as appropriate.
  • Attend/assist with constituency surgeries and meetings.
  • Undertake general administrative duties to support the work of the office team and the MP.
  • Action policy casework as and when required and as directed by the Senior Communications Advisor.
  • Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act and our Privacy Policy.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of handling casework, such as in an MP’s office, public sector, a third sector organisation such as the CAB, or equivalent is essential.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills when interacting with people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage a large and varied caseload.
  • Excellent IT skills, including the ability to use a casework tracking system (training given), MS Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook), Internet and Intranet.
  • Motivated to work independently as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Good office admin skills.
  • Good telephone and face to face manner and the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy.
