Chris Ward MP is looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Policy Researcher to join his office. This is a part-time role for 3 days a week.

The location of this role is dependent on the right candidate. Our preference is to be based in the constituency office, but we are open to it being remote. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Leading on policy responses in line with the MP’s views and style guide
• Take ownership of certain casework as required
• Deal with complex queries and complaints on MPs' behalf, including drafting and signing letters
• Research and monitor local, regional and national media coverage as well as social media to brief MP on relevant issues
• A strong understanding of the issues affecting constituents in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven 

Essential:

• Knowledge of UK politics and parliamentary procedures.
• Excellent witten and oral communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• An abilitiy to prioritise a wokload and work to tight deadlines under pressure.
• Previous knowledge and casework experience (desirable)
