Job Details
The successful candidate will deliver a proactive communications programme across parliamentary activity, campaigns and constituency‑facing work. Create engaging digital content for social media and web channels, including graphics and video. Manage and develop Anneliese’s social media presence, draft press materials, liaise with media to extend reach, and maintain accurate records, administration, flexibility and high professional standards at all times. As well as sympathy with the values of the Labour Party values.
- Work with Anneliese and her close-knit team to plan and implement a communications plan, covering his work in the constituency and Westminster, with weekly deliverables and
- Create high‑quality digital content, including graphics, photography and video, for publication across social media and digital channels.
- Manage and develop Anneliese’s social media presence, including scheduling content, monitoring and moderating comments, and supporting timely responses to public‑facing queries.
- Attend events, visits and engagements as required to capture and generate engaging digital and media content.
- Draft press releases, media statements, briefings and campaign copy, ensuring accuracy, sound political judgement and consistency of tone.
- Proactively liaise with journalists and media outlets, identifying opportunities to promote campaigns, parliamentary interventions and local activity.
- Spot and develop creative communications ideas to extend reach and secure coverage across digital and traditional media.
- Manage and contribute to e‑newsletters and website content, ensuring messaging is clear, accessible and up to date.
- Work closely with Anneliese to support strategic communications planning, adapting priorities quickly in response to political developments and media interest.
- Maintain accurate records and content logs, ensuring information is managed confidentially and in line with data protection legislation.
- Carry out data management and administrative tasks related to communications activity using office software, including Microsoft Office.
- Work flexibly, including outside normal office hours and occasional travel, reflecting the demands of a political communications role.
- Uphold high professional standards of political communications, confidentiality, judgement and digital safety at all times.
