David Pinto-Duschinsky MP is looking for a part-time caseworker (4-days-per-week).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team and help make a real difference to people’s lives.
The caseworker will join our casework team and help deal with problems constituents face. They will manage multiple cases and help work with both national and local government to get the best resolution for local residents.
The role will be based mainly in the constituency office in Hendon with occasionally days in Westminster and opportunities for flexible working/working from home.
Key responsibilities:
• Deal with large a numbers of queries including complex cases from members of the public, primarily by phone and email, including assisting David at face-to-face surgeries
• Liaising with Government agencies, councils, the voluntary sector and other organisations to help resolve cases
• Draft responses to constituents and ensure information is kept and managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately
• Log cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
• Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communication with the MP and other members of the team

• The ability to demonstrate patience, empathy and respect confidentiality
• Ability to draft clear and concise letters and emails to a high professional standard
• A non-judgemental outlook and ability to empathise with people in difficult situations
• Great organisational and office administration skills
• Excellent time management
Desirable, but not essential:
• Previous experience working in an MPs office or a political environment
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party
