Job Details
Working Pattern: Part-time, 24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:
• Lead the overall communications strategy, aligning messaging with MP’s priorities, constituency and parliamentary work.
• Translate policy, campaigns and casework into clear narratives and integrated communications campaigns across press, digital and other channels.
• Create annual communications plan across all types including media, TV, Radio, Press releases, Newspaper articles, OpEd’s, social media etc.
• Build and deepen engagement with key audiences, including constituents, local stakeholders and partners, amplifying local voices and stories.
• Use data and insight to drive performance, setting KPIs, tracking sentiment and continuously improving communications impact.
• Attend constituency meetings as appropriate for PR opportunities.
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
• Manage, monitor, maintain and enhance a social media and online presence in the constituency, dealing with responses and escalating as required.
• Line management of communications team, volunteers and outsourced suppliers as required.
• Produce online graphics and video content, as well as publicising surgeries and news alerts etc.
• Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain strong media relationships, securing proactive coverage and managing reactive enquiries.
• Develop and maintain website content and articles.
• Monitor media coverage, liaise with media, prepare press releases as required (on constituency, non party-political matters)
• Produce press releases, op-eds, newsletter, website content and liaise with the media, meeting deadlines as appropriate.
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
• Produce video and photography content.
• Attend events and engagements as required.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
