Job Details
The Role
Greg Smith MP is seeking a highly organised and motivated Administrative Officer to join his busy constituency office in Wendover. This role is central to the effective running of the office, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to constituents and assisting with the day-to-day administrative functions of Greg’s work locally.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the constituency office
• Maintain and update casework and contact databases accurately and securely
• Ensure compliance with data protection and information management requirements
• Respond to routine enquiries from constituents via email, post, telephone and social media
• Assist in arranging and administering MP surgeries and meetings
• Support the organisation of events, including logistics, invitations and coordination
• Manage incoming correspondence, including logging, prioritising and drafting responses
• Undertake general administrative duties
Additional Duties
• Coordinate tour and visit requests to Parliament
• Support the delivery of the office’s work experience programme
Person Specification
• Essential:
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work proactively as part of a small team
• Desirable:
• Previous experience in an administrative or public-facing role
• Understanding of parliamentary processes or constituency casework systems
Additional Information
The successful applicant will be required to adhere to IPSA staffing rules and the Nolan Principles of Public Life. This role may involve occasional evening or weekend work to support events and surgeries. Training will be provided where appropriate.
