Job Details

Fleur Anderson MP is seeking an experienced, empathetic and politically aware Caseworker to join her Westminster office. This is a key role supporting constituents, resolving complex issues and helping ensure a high standard of service across the constituency.

The successful candidate will be personable, resilient and committed to public service. You will have experience supporting people through challenging situations, strong political judgement and an alignment with Labour values. You will be confident communicating with a wide range of individuals, including those who may be vulnerable or distressed.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide advice, support and advocacy for constituents on a wide range of issues including housing, immigration and local services.
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring all cases are logged, progressed and responded to promptly and sensitively.
• Draft correspondence and liaise with government departments, local authorities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders.
• Respond to policy-related enquiries.
• Support constituency engagement including surgeries, community meetings, events and local visits.
• Assist with inbox management, diary management and general administrative tasks as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the MP’s work and priorities.

Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience in casework, advocacy or support roles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong political awareness and understanding of current affairs.
• Alignment with Labour Party values and a commitment to social justice and equality.
• Ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable individuals and challenging situations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good judgement, problem solving skills and resilience.
• Personable, approachable and able to build rapport quickly.

Desirable
• Familiarity with Caseworker.mp or similar casework management systems.
• Knowledge of local issues.
• Experience supporting community engagement or public facing events.
• Understanding of Parliament and the role of an MP’s office.
