Job Details
David Pinto-Duschinsky MP is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible individual to lead on communications, campaigns and digital media, including content creation. The role will have both a national and local focus and will provide opportunities for work on a national stage and well as develop high impact local campaigns. This role is part of the management of the team and will give opportunities for management and will work closely with the MP on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities:
• To manage relationships and develop opportunities with national media, including both broadcast and print media
• To maintain the MP’s digital channels and expand their audience and engagement, including driving online advertising; and to develop new online content (particularly scripts and ideas)
• Help design, coordinate and execute important local and national campaigns
• Produce content including graphics and videos
• Write articles, press releases, video scripts, speeches, newsletters and print materials
• Lead strategic planning of communications and issue campaigns
• Provide political and communications advice to the MP
• Manage staff members to support execution of campaigns and creation of content
Skills and values
• Experience managing media relationships
• Sound judgement in dealing with political issues
• Digital media skills, including digital platforms, videography and content creation
• Experience developing and running campaigns
• Ability to write gold standard speeches, articles, scripts etc for the MP
• Flexibility and responsiveness
• Ability to prioritise and manage a large workload independently. Ability to plan effectively
Desirable, but not essential:
• Previous experience working in an MPs office or a political environment
• Previous experience of managing people
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party

Interview/Start Dates
Interviews will be held in late May – early June and could involve written tasks.
The start date will be as soon as possible after interview (to be agreed with the successful candidate).
