Job Title: Graduate Internships

Working For: Alex Brewer MP (North East Hampshire)

Location: London

Salary: £26,500

Length of Contract: 3 months

Job Details

Calling recent graduates! My office is looking to offer two paid internships for three months each over June, July and August. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy MP's office.

One will be London based and one in North East Hampshire. Both roles will have chance to learn about how Parliament and constituency offices run.

The successful candidates will support the office with casework, research and administration, including logging and drafting correspondence, liaising with external organisations, liaising with the House of Commons library, submitting written questions to government departments and assisting with events. These are fast‑paced roles that require professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Need to know:

  • These are paid internships.
  • Ideally we are looking for people full-time, but will consider 4 days.
  • This is mostly based in the office, with some work from home possible.
  • You do not need a politics degree, but an interest in current affairs is essential.
  • We are looking for organised, proactive team-players with great communications skills.
  • You must be a recent graduate (in the past 3 years). (We hope to open up other opportunities for students and sixth-formers in due course.)

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Closing Date: 8 May 2026
