Job Title: Events and Office Manager

Working For: Policy Exchange

Location: London

Salary: Competitive

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Policy Exchange is looking for a confident, enthusiastic and politically minded person to manage an exciting and topical rolling programme of events. This will require working with a diverse mix of politicians, policymakers, business people and academics as well as liaising with suppliers such as venue staff, AV companies and caterers.

As Events Manager, you will run an event programme ranging from policy roundtables at our very centrally located in-house events space to receptions at other central Westminster venues with 500+ capacity.

Additionally, your duties will also incorporate the role of Office Manager. This will support the day to day running of the office, providing administrative support to the Directors and managing administrative systems, such as record management, filing and reports.

To be a strong candidate you would have:

  • Event management experience – a strong track record in planning and delivering events, including handling logistics, liaising with venues, and managing on-the-day operations. Experience in a political, policy, or think tank setting would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent project management skills – an ability to juggle multiple events at once, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Corporate engagement experience – experience attracting and coordinating sponsorship of research programmes and events, for instance at the political Party Conferences, is preferable.
  • Good database skills and GDPR knowledge – strong Microsoft Excel skills and an understanding of data protection laws (GDPR) to ensure compliance in event registrations and communications.
  • Marketing & Audience Awareness – an understanding of marketing techniques, including digital outreach and creative promotion strategies, to maximise attendance and engagement.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Good record-keeping and organisational skills
  • A keen interest in political issues and public policy.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude – being proactive and solutions-focused in your approach.
  • A willingness to work out of hours from time-to-time to support the delivery of events – some events will take place in the evenings or require early morning starts.
