Job Details

Frank McNally MP is looking for a highly organised, reliable and proactive individual to support the day to day running of a busy MP’s office. This is a fast paced role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with care.
The Constituency Support Office role is varied and fast-paced. The successful individual will be based at the constituency office in Coatbridge, to provide support for constituents.

The successful applicant with be:

• Highly organised, comfortable working at pace, and able to manage several priorities at once
• Calm, professional and confident dealing with the public
• Trustworthy, discreet and committed to confidentiality
• Willing to improve ways of working and try new approaches
• A strong team player with the confidence to work with others.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day to day administration of the office, including managing databases, records, budgets and compliance with data protection legislation
• Act as the first point of contact for phone, email, and face to face enquiries, handling sensitive matters professionally and confidentially
• Manage the MP’s diary and constituency commitments
• Attend and support with organising constituency events, including surgeries and meetings as appropriate.
• Support with organising and responding to casework and constituent enquiries, including a large number of standard queries and complex cases
• Provide administrative support, project support and resource management
• Build and maintain strong community relationships
• General administration and team support as needed, including handling administrative and diary arrangements

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
