Job Details
Anna Sabine MP is seeking a Communications Officer to lead on digital content and support clear, effective communication with constituents, and a Constituency Support Officer to support with events and visits across the constituency.
The comms role is ideal for a creative and organised communicator who is digitally confident and motivated by public service.
The constituency support role is ideal for an outgoing people-focused individual with excellent organisational skills.
The role is 50/50 split if full time, we will consider part time of 3 days p/w for each role.
Comms Officer Duties
- Create clear, engaging digital content across multiple platforms, including graphics and video
- Manage and update the MP’s social media channels, ensuring a strong, responsive, and professional online presence
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications
- Draft press releases, media briefings, newsletters, and monitor relevant media coverage
- Provide general communications support to help advance the MP’s parliamentary and constituency priorities
- Maintain the MPs photo bank and record of communications
- Develop and implement comprehensive media and public relations strategies to promote organisational goals
Constituency Support Officer Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with constituency stakeholders.
- Organise events, both regular and ad hoc. Including bookings; guest-lists; liaising with suppliers; and providing on-the-day event support as required.
- Attend events and activities with the MP to capture photos, footage, and quotes, and undertake timely follow-up actions
- Work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours commitments
Essential Criteria - Both
- Sensitivity and good judgment when handling complex or controversial issues
- Strong organisational skills, able to work independently and as part of a small team
Essential Criteria - Comms
- Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
Essential Criteria – Constituency Support
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- A full UK driving licence and access to their own car
Desirable criteria - Both
- Commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
