Job Details
Monica Harding MP is seeking a full-time or part time Caseworker to join her small, committed, and fast-paced constituency team based in Esher and Walton. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting constituents and ensuring they receive a high-quality, responsive service.
The successful candidate will manage a varied casework load, logging and responding to constituent correspondence on individual cases, policy matters, and campaigns. You will be comfortable working independently in a busy environment, while maintaining exceptional standards of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
This role would suit someone with previous casework experience or an understanding of housing, immigration, welfare benefits or education. Who is highly organised, empathetic, and motivated by public service.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle a high volume of constituent enquiries, assist with more complex cases, via email, phone and face-to-face engagement
• Draft clear, accurate, and timely responses to constituents on behalf of the MP
• Draft letters to third parties on behalf of constituents
• Gather and assess relevant information to help resolve constituent cases effectively
• Log all cases accurately, monitor progress, and ensure agreed actions are completed
• Maintain detailed records and manage information sensitively and confidentially, in line with data protection legislation
• Ensure all cases are handled promptly, compassionately, confidentially, and accurately, in accordance with the MP’s standards and procedures
• Support and attend constituency surgeries and other meetings, following up actions as required
• Attend constituency meetings and events as appropriate
There may occasionally be a requirement to work outside normal office hours and to travel to Parliament.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
