Job Details
Olivia Bailey MP is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Parliamentary and Constituency Assistant. This is a varied role combining policy casework, communications, and constituency campaigns. The successful applicant will manage a caseload of policy enquiries. Alongside this, they will support with communications, and the delivery of constituency campaigns and events. If the successful applicant is based in Westminster, they would be expected to be in the constituency at least one day per week.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Managing a caseload of policy enquiries, drafting responses and ensuring timely, accurate resolution
• Supporting the delivery of Olivia’s social media and digital presence, including producing copy, graphics and video content
• Support the delivery of constituency campaigns and events
• Engage professionally with constituents via email, phone, social media, and face-to-face
Person Specification
Essential
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality copy
• Experience of digital campaigning including producing video, graphics, and copy for social media channels
• Experience of supporting the delivery of campaigns and events
• An interest in current affairs and policy issues
• Previous parliamentary or other relevant experience
• Experience of researching and presenting information in an easily digestible format
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to use own initiative
• Ability to work well under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
• Knowledge of parliamentary procedures
• Good all-round IT skills
• Ability to work out of hours on occasion
