• Deal with cases raised by members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face on a wide range of issues, including housing, immigration, and public services.
• Draft responses to constituents.
• Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce reports.
• Assist with updating social media on request.
• Assist with advice surgeries and other meetings, and follow up as appropriate.
• Ensure records are kept, and information is managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
• Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public.
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately.
• Handle administrative arrangements for meetings with members of the public/MP surgeries.
• Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Assisting colleagues when required.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
The successful candidate will be:
• a self-starter who can work independently, as well as in a team.
• a clear and quick thinker who will comfortably prioritise, action and complete responsibilities.
• comfortable with working in a busy office.
• able to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
• a confident and concise writer, with great attention to detail.
• sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party
