Job Details

Josh Newbury, the MP for Cannock Chase, is recruiting for an Office Manager to oversee all aspects of his constituency and Westminster offices, including line managing six other members of the team.

Far from being a purely administrative role, the Office Manager will ensure all threads of work within the team are knitted together, as well as ensuring finance and security requirements are met at all times. They will make sure Josh is kept up to date on various matters and advised on the priorities of constituents. In line with Josh’s commitment to the personal and professional development of all of his staff, the Office Manager will play a key role in identifying and arranging training opportunities. These opportunities will extend to the role holder too, including the option of hybrid working, flexible hours and a reduction in hours if preferred.

The Office Manager will have particular responsibility for the team’s casework function, ensuring that correspondence from constituents is dealt with promptly and effectively and that casework staff are fully supported, particularly when working through difficult cases. On occasion, this may involve personally taking charge of individual cases as well as assisting Josh with weekly local advice sessions.
