Job Title: Summer Research Internship

Working For: Andrew Griffith MP (Arundel and South Downs)

Location: London

Salary: Competitive, 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs)

Length of Contract: Fixed term, 1st July – 1st September

Job Details

This is a key role in an energetic, high impact office. Working with Andrew, and his team, in this large and important brief, you will gain hands on experience in the office of a Shadow Cabinet Minister, help in the work of researching and developing policy, and supporting the work of an active constituency MP.

This role may suit someone with longer term political ambitions interested in acquiring some early experience of Westminster before building a career in business - or students currently in the midst of a university course.

Key responsibilities:

• ⁠Research national issues and regulations impacting UK businesses and economic growth
• Support Andrew’s work developing policy as Shadow Cabinet Minister
• Draft responses to policy questions from constituents
• Any other duties and tasks as needed

Key characteristics:

• Strong research and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and written skills, with the ability to interpret and understand complex legislation and policy
• Personable and able to work as part of a small team
• Highly organised and able to prioritise a workload
• Personal initiative and a proactive work ethic
• The ability to maintain complete discretion and confidentiality
• A supporter of the Conservative Party
