Job Details
Darren Jones MP offers an annual paid internship, based in the Constituency Office in Bristol. This is a full-time role.
The Constituency Intern will support the constituency team by responding to policy queries from constituents on behalf of the MP, setting up cases, progressing straightforward casework enquiries and assisting with constituency mail outs. They will also provide administrative and events support to the constituency team.
The Constituency Intern will set up files on our management system (Caseworker) and will use the Parliamentary Research Service (PRS), the House of Commons library service and Parliamentary Labour Party policy briefings to draft responses to questions from constituents on policy related issues. The Constituency Intern will work with the wider team to identify trends and concerns that need escalating into Ministerial enquiries or wider engagement in the constituency.
Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent research and writing skills, as well as a high level of organisation. The Constituency Intern will need to be a self-starter and able to manage a high volume of requests within agreed service level time frames.
The Constituency Intern will be given a parliamentary laptop, headset, keyboard and mouse and can work from the constituency office and remotely from home. Full training will be provided, with appropriate support and supervision in place.
The internship runs from August 2026 to September 2027 and is funded for 37.5 hours each week.
