Overview
Charlie Maynard MP and the Witney Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic, politically astute and self-motivated person to plan and organise campaign activity and manage a team of volunteers.
As Campaigns Organiser, you will be communicating with volunteers about upcoming campaign activities, phoning to recruit and activate new volunteers, designing and arranging distribution of campaign leaflets, coordinating constituency social media and door-knocking efforts.
This requires strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and support volunteers. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able to work in fast paced environment and be solution oriented.
Job Description:
Take overall responsibility for developing and delivering the constituency campaign plan to the agreed budget; working with the local party executive and campaign committee, Charlie Maynard MP and local, regional and HQ campaign staff.
Organise volunteers and local party workers by:
- Recruiting, training, managing and mobilising members and volunteers
- Leading volunteer teams on campaigning activities
- Teaching volunteers to use the online database (Connect) effectively and entering data yourself.
Ensure the delivery of a programme of social media, doorstep and telephone voter contact.
Oversee and deliver the production, printing and distribution of literature.
Taking charge of constituency emails, phone banking and updating of the Local Party Website.
Assist with fundraising campaigns.
Essential Criteria:
● Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
● Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
● Ability to recruit, mobilise and manage volunteers.
● Demonstrate a "can-do" attitude and resilience in pressured/difficult situations.
● Ability to meet deadlines.
● Ability to work independently, with exceptional personal organisation.
● Sympathetic to Liberal Democrat aims and values.
Desirable criteria:
● Knowledge of the local area.
● Understanding and experience of election campaigns.
● Good digital skills and experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher & Connect) – training will be provided as needed.
