Job Details
This internship offers an exciting opportunity to join the NIA's Public Affairs Team during its busiest period. Working directly with the Head of Public Affairs and Senior Public Affairs Executive, the successful candidate will help sustain the nuclear sector's momentum and deliver at the highest level for NIA members.
Daily responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
- Political monitoring
- Parliamentarian meeting requests across Westminster, Holyrood and the Senedd
- MP/MS/MSP background briefings and slide decks ahead of meetings
- Written and Oral Parliamentary Question placements
- Event support
Essential Criteria:
- Educated to degree level having graduated within the last 12 months or currently in the last year of study
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Strong understanding of the UK parliamentary system and political processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous internship, volunteering, or work experience in a parliamentary, political, public affairs, or policy environment
- Experience drafting briefings, reports, or correspondence
- Knowledge of current UK political issues and public policy
- Experience engaging with stakeholders or constituents

Placement start date Tuesday 1 September 2026.
