Pippa Heylings MP is seeking a paid Intern to support her parliamentary work in Westminster. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in politics, public policy, and climate and nature advocacy.
The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to learning. They will support the Parliamentary Assistant and the Member across a range of duties.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Member and Parliamentary Assistant in Westminster
  • Assist with research on policy and legislation
  • Prepare briefing materials for meetings, speeches, and media
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and support follow-up actions
  • Maintain knowledge of parliamentary activity (debates, legislation, Hansard)
  • Draft external communications, including social media and newsletters
  • Assist with diary management and tracking parliamentary business
  • Support tabling of Parliamentary Questions, EDMs, and debates
  • Assist with event organisation and provide on-the-day support
  • Manage enquiries via email and post
  • Support speechwriting and general administrative tasks
  • Assist with research and data analysis

Person Specification
Essential:

  • Strong interest in UK politics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organisation
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of parliamentary processes
  • Interest in climate and environmental policy

Additional Information
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Interview/Start Dates

We are planning to hold first stage interviews (including a written test) in person at Pippa’s Offices in Parliament on Monday 29th June. Start date for the internship is 31 August 2026.
