This is an opportunity to join Pearson’s UK Government Relations (UKGR) team, supporting engagement with policymakers and UK political and policy developments. The role combines policy awareness with strong coordination skills, helping the team deliver and stay aligned with business priorities.
You’ll work across education, skills, technology, AI and workforce reform, turning complex developments into clear, useful insights for internal stakeholders.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) role suits someone proactive, organised and confident managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
• Monitor UK political and policy developments across education, skills, technology, AI and workforce reform, translating them into insights
• Produce regular updates, including parliamentary monitoring and a monthly newsletter
• Support engagement with parliamentarians, civil servants and sector stakeholders
• Coordinate internal processes, workstreams and the UKGR pipeline to support delivery
• Manage timelines, actions and follow-ups, flagging risks or delays
• Act as secretariat for the Policy Strategy Group, including agenda setting, meetings and action tracking
• Lead organisation of Pearson’s annual Symposium, coordinating stakeholders and logistics
• Draft and coordinate responses to consultations and parliamentary inquiries, with SMEs and external bodies where needed
• Manage budget tracking, suppliers and invoice approvals, and support inbox, event and stakeholder coordination

• Good understanding of UK politics and policymaking
• Confidence supporting senior stakeholders
• Strong writing skills and ability to turn complex information into clear, business-relevant insights
• Collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
Desirable
• Experience in government relations, public affairs or policy
• Knowledge of education and skills policy
• Experience drafting consultation responses or parliamentary briefings
• Exposure to budget tracking or financial administration
• Experience in an agency, parliamentary or MP office
