Job Details
Fred Thomas MP is looking for an experienced, motivated & compassionate team player to join his constituency team as a Caseworker to work 25hrs per week Mon-Fri from his local office in Plymouth Moor view with 2 days (Monday and Wednesday working at home)*
You’ll be part of a small caseworker team within the mutually supportive wider constituency team, and should have and sympathy and understanding of the issues and opportunities facing residents of Plymouth Moor View.
This is a part time role working 5 days per week. Daily hours may be negotiated.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face, and provide timely ongoing communication
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases. Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately
- Draft high quality written responses to constituents
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with current data protection legislation and GDPR
- Attend constituency meetings, and participate in information sessions, local surgeries and other meetings – take minutes/notes if required and follow up actions as appropriate
- Provide policy and campaign responses to constituents
- Use MS Office to a high standard and bespoke 'Caseworker' software to record and monitor own caseload
- Perform general administration tasks in support of the Member and Office Manager,
- Perform any other reasonable duties as may be necessary from time to time
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.

There will be a further interview for the final shortlisted candidates with Fred Thomas MP on Wednesday 1st July before confirmation of appointment.
