Climate Centre is seeking a summer intern to join our communications team. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of climate and environment comms. We are a spokesperson network that works with mainstream press and broadcast media to bring climate and environment issues to a mainstream audience.

The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a team, brainstorming issues, developing campaigns and being part of a newsroom-style culture. A strong understanding of UK broadcast media and some knowledge of the climate sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing engaging stories for national media.
• Play an active role in news monitoring, idea generation ideas, and identifying suitable spokespersons for broadcast and press opportunities.
• Effectively manage multiple project deadlines and deliver compelling content for the national press and broadcast media.

Qualifications

• Journalism, broadcast media, public relations experience and/or a knowledge of the climate sector is preferred but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability and attention to detail.
