Job Details

Marie Goldman MP is looking for a dedicated and proactive Caseworker to join her team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting constituents and making a tangible difference to people’s lives.

As a Caseworker, you will help manage a high volume of correspondence, working closely with Marie and her team to resolve a wide range of constituency issues. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and empathetic.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public.
  • Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
  • Draft responses to constituents.
  • Assist surgeries and other meetings, following up as appropriate.
  • Attend constituency meetings as appropriate.
  • Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
  • Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP.
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
  • Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act.
  • To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.

Skills required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to help and a willingness to empathise.
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A knowledge of political process and interest in current affairs is desirable.
  • The ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
  • Knowledge of, and confidence with, basic IT programmes.
  • A commitment to the values of the Liberal Democrats.
