About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the constituency office of Liam Byrne MP as a Senior Caseworker, supporting residents across Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North. This role is central to helping constituents navigate complex issues and ensuring their concerns are raised with the relevant organisations.
You will manage a varied caseload covering housing, immigration, welfare benefits, health, education, local government and other public services. You will work with constituents, government departments, local authorities, housing associations, charities and community organisations to help secure support and resolve issues.
This is an ideal role for someone with casework experience who wants to make a real impact in a busy parliamentary office.

Desirable Experience
• Previous MP office casework experience
• Experience supporting elected representatives
• Background in local government, housing, advice services or community work
• Knowledge of Birmingham and the West Midlands
• Understanding of parliamentary or local government processes
Key Responsibilities
• Manage constituency casework across a range of issues
• Liaise with departments, councils, housing providers and agencies
• Draft clear correspondence and casework responses
• Maintain accurate GDPR-compliant records
• Support surgeries, meetings and community engagement
• Assist with stakeholder engagement and outreach
• Ensure timely and effective constituent support
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to wider office work
Additional Information
• Primarily office-based with some flexibility
• Occasional evening/weekend work and local travel may be required
• Commitment to public service and understanding of parliamentary processes required
• Salary and conditions in line with IPSA guidelines
