Job Details
Gareth Davies MP is looking for a Parliamentary Assistant or Senior Parliamentary Assistant to join his team. The person in this role will help support him in his parliamentary activities.
The job title and salary can be scaled to reflect the experience of the successful candidate, who needs to be a self-starter and highly organised.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Diary management
- Providing generalist admin support, including managing office expenses through IPSA
- Responding to routine correspondence and enquires
- Engaging confidentially and professionally, with care and integrity, with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, social media, email and face-to-face
- Progressing and assisting with casework as required
- Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally, including assisting with events
Capabilities required:
- Personable and able to work as part of a small team
- Strong IT skills
- Highly organised, able to prioritise and manage a heavy workload
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure
- Personal initiative and a proactive work ethic
- The ability to maintain complete discretion and confidentiality
Desired Experience/Qualities:
- Supportive of the aims and values of the Conservative Party
- Familiarity with the Grantham and Bourne constituency would be preferable
