Hours: 35 hours per week; hybrid working (2–3 days in office)
Are you a recent graduate with an interest in politics and public affairs? Join FDF Scotland and help shape the future of Scotland’s food and drink manufacturing industry.
We’re looking for a motivated and curious individual to support our public affairs and policy work as we engage with the Scottish Parliament and Government. You’ll monitor political and policy developments, support stakeholder engagement, and help produce briefings for members.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced policy environment, develop your skills, and build your professional network within a supportive team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting engagement with the Scottish Parliament and Government, including monitoring parliamentary activity and ministerial priorities
- Assisting with events such as parliamentary receptions, party conferences, and stakeholder meetings
- Monitoring political and policy developments and producing concise briefing
- Drafting communications for newsletters, website content, and email updates
- Providing research and administrative support to the team
What we’re looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Strong interest in UK and Scottish politics and public policy
- Understanding of political processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a public affairs or political environment (desirable)
