Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Worker to join our team, providing support and advice to constituents on a variety of issues through liaison with Government agencies, the voluntary sector and others to resolve matters.

Case Workers play a vital role in an MP's office, supporting the MP to ensure that constituents' concerns are head and actioned. The role is full time in the office in Starbeck in Harrogate.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload ensuring actions are taken and constituents are kept informed throughout. The ideal candidate would have experience of interacting with the public. The successful candidate will be an effective and empathetic communicator, both in writing and in person, and have a passion for helping the residents of Harrogate and Knaresborough.

Responsibilities
• Assist at surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
• Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of public by email, phone or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required.
• Draft bespoke responses to constituents and create templates for regular issues.
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in line with the MPs aims and objectives.
• Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Log all cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Be a supportive team member, assisting in any other tasks that might be needed.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel to London occasionally.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. A contract cannot be issued until this process has been completed. Qualifications
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4(C) or above
